How to get wax off carpet - 28-08-08, 02:32 PM

Anyone got any tips for cleaning wax off carpet? it was warm wax. it's now totally cool but still sticky. I've tried wax equipment cleaner which hasn't worked.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

oh dear doesnt sound to good.
Best to go through yellow pages....look up "carpet cleaners" and pick their brains.

A tip for removing candle wax is to place a thick paper tissue over the dried wax and run a warm iron over the area(make sure you don't set irn to hot as will melt the carpet )
The heat remelts the wax which is absorbed into the tissue..repeat as required.
Maybe this could also work on your wax???

No expert on these things so maybe better to rely on a carpet cleaner expert

Hello!
A couple of years ago I spilt a whole pot of wax on the carpet (pulled the trolley a bit too far!), which is why I have wooden flooring in my new clinic! After I had cleared up as much as I could, I let it set & placed brown paper & couch roll over the wax & ironed over it in the same way as you would to remove candle wax. It still left the carpet a little 'stiff' in that area but it was a lot better.

I have a cream carpet in my treatment room and it sure has made me less clumsy when dealing with the wax.

If a drop does fall on the carpet i rub some jasmine oil into it which breaks up the wax then use 1001 spot carpet cleaner which removes the oily stain!

Voila wax gone!

My carpet looks good as new which is impressive with the amount of waxing that gets done xxx

I agree with Amber. Test it in an obscure area first to make sure it does not alter the carpet colour. Apply a wee amount and then rinse well with wather to neutralize the wax remover.
