Have you tried cooling down the room before her appointment,
then place a cold wet flannel under the clients arm for 3 Min's before doing the treatment, during the treatment apply a cold wet flannel to each wrist this will reduce the bodies core temp hth
( i am guessing it is an under arm wax)

I do have one client who sweats a lot, because she is so nervous. She is pretty soaked tbh, but I try to behave like there isn't a problem, just do a small bit at a time, wipe her with blue lotion, blot with a tissue and wax, then repeat for the next strip. I don't use oil or talc on her. It does make the waxing a bit slow but I guess that doesn't really matter... I allow extra time for her. The most important thing is that she receives the treatment she wants / needs, and is made to feel as comfortable as possible.

So my advice would be, work on one area at a time, pre cleanse just the area you are working on, blot after pre cleansing if necessary, reassure her that she's normal, play soothing music, and try to make her lie down flat with her eyes closed - nervous clients can make it worse for themselves by watching what's going on(!)

Blot with a tissue the second before you apply the wax.

If you use non strip wax on the bikini and underarms, do the same and try Perron Rigot, Escential Rose wax. This is particularly good for clients that sweat and it sets immediately. It's tough on the hair and kind to the skin. xx

Sweating: Suffering from Excess Sweat?

hi hun i think kims option is the best for u, although it may take some time, i think with the condition this lady has there is no other choice for u to get the results for her. I found this really interesting so did a bit of googling and found the above web page, was quite interesting and may help u and others understand the situation she has a bit more. Good look xxxx

i have my own salon and i have a cosmetics company come in one day a week. they offer hyperhidrosis for excessive sweating. it's pretty pricey but it works. she would definitely benefit from this if she can afford it.

Wow if excessive sweating is the worst thing you've come across when waxing your doing alright!

Your client will be embarassed and dreading the treatment because of her problem she doesn't need the therapist making a big deal about it. Yes it might take a bit longer to dab sweat away, but try and work faster and you should get more done before the sweat builds up again!

There are treatments to combat excess sweating but I wouldn't advise telling your client about them UNLESS she asks you! You wouldn't like it if someone offered you advise about bad breath out of the blue would you?

If she does ask I would refer her to her doctor (not anyone else) It's her doctors job to advise the appropriate treatment not yours!

Pink potions i am sorry hun, but i have to disagree with you on this one. I think it is great that she is asking us wax geeks advise because it shows she cares about her client and wants to do the best job she can. I have been in the business 8 years and as yet have not come across a client with this condition and i have waxed some bodies. Hence my google search as it intrigued me. I think we should all feel we can ask any question no matter how dafft we may think it is, as it is the only way we learn, to ask questions and watch others. Again nothing personall just my opinionxxxxx

I wasn't meaning to be harsh I apologise if it came across that way.

My first line was a joke just to be clear!

The rest was just my heartfelt opinion. I used to be an excessive sweater and the doctor referred me for surgery so it rings very close to my heart and I know that the more people made me aware of it or the more I worried the worse I got! It made me shy away from people! I always prayed noone would notice but beauticians especially seemed hell bent on bringing it up. Thankfully I found a treatment that worked a charm through the NHS and I now have normal sweat glands hence the comment about leaving treatment suggestions to the doctor as they know best.

Yes it's a pain in the ass for us but it's much worse for the client, all i was meaning was be discreet and do your best even if it means taking more time and blotting lots.

I think the poster was great for asking the question and I admire her for taking the extra time and effort with this client & hope she can proceed with this problem with more confidence after receiving the above answers x
