Oh dear god I am so embarrased. Right, i'll get straight to the point here. I have what seems to be a big red boil like lump on my bikini line area. I havnt waxed down there for a while, few months ago was the last time.

The offending boil has burst 2 days ago and seems to not be healing up. I have called the doctor and started a course of tablets and a steroid cream which seems to be doing no good. Im going away this weekend and its seriously going to effect my sex life

Have any of you fantastic experts got a miracle cure or advice. Should i keep using the steroid cream or use something like savlon or tcp. Sorry if ive posted this in the wrong section but this is 999 thread.

I would advise that you carry on with the tablets (are they antibiotics?), and apply the steroid cream only thinly - they seriously thin the skin if overused. The cream will take down the swelling but it won't treat the cause; that's what the antibiotics are for.
If it were me I would be careful about what I got up this weekend (ahem). I would keep away from any kind of perfumed shower gel/bath oils etc, and I'd be VERY careful about inflicting any further trauma to the area (ahem).

Have you been under a lot of stress lately hun,
when ever im under stress it is always my groin area that i get lumps and bumps in, my GP said it is very common in women under stress,
not much help i know but a bit of info for you,
keep taking the antibiotics they should clear it up.

Thanks for your replys. I get them every now and again. the doc hasnt seen it this time but i spoke to her on the phone. Yeah im on fluoxicillian (sp?) keeping my fingers crossed!

Im having dejavu something to do with Bagpuss.if you have some fullers earth and witchhazel make a nice warm mixture cover with a warm wet clean flannel as hot as you can bare and that will act like a poultice and bring it to a head.

Oh yes sorry i only skimmed the thread.well all i can add is to get some of those clear cushioned healing plasters bit of a romantic dampener but at least you wont be sore and sharing your boil.

if it is still as sore there probably is still a lot ofpus in there. I'd try the poultice/antibiotic combo! Hope it doesn't put too much of a damper on your fun! xx
