Sienna X and Celebrity Secrets (did you know that CS make SX solution for them) CS told me.



(edited Aug 09) since posting the above I have spoken to CS and they have stopped suplying SX
and I have noticed that SX is not as good, I now buy CS and its beautiful!!!)

i use sienna x and celebrity secrets, my clients love celebrity secrets, i also love the product looks very natural on and people always comment on how good it looks. Sienna x is also great very natural looking. the guide colour on both is fantastic so i can see where i am spraying, also my clients love it because for them is an instant tan.

interested to know what all the 'others' are people are using...

well i have tried sienna x - well i had to didnt i as i won 6 months worth in the guild comp.

must say i was impressed with it, jen sprayed me over the weekend and the colour fade is great and no patches and crocodile effect like i get with some other solutions. so overall im impressed with it. I also didnt think that the colour guide was that different to the autumn gold of tantrick as well as i had heard that the sienna solutions had a darker guide colour. i was dead dry as well after and not damp or sticky which for me is a must.

there are so many out there i know stock 3 solutions being sienna, vani t and tantrick and also another one im about to try is a chocolate & cherry one.

This must be the Suntana one i have the chocolate but haven't tried it yet.Smells lovely though.
Other ones not in the poll that some might be using are ST Tropez,fake bake,solglo,xen tan,A tan,bisto,.... urm cant think of anymore ????

i use tanline. i trained with vani-t but i find tanline is a very natural looking tan, without that hint of orange you can get with some tans. Plus the retail range is great! from exfoliates and primers to a gorgeous shimmer spray, it is a really good range. I find it dries quickly and doesnt have an overpowering odor either. Doesnt stain the sheets either! always a bonus!

Don't think we have this one over here yet.Looks good from the website though gets good reviews.

the salon i work in use st tropez its fab!! iv never had any problems with it going orange or patchy, it goes to how dark your skin would go in the sun so always looks dead natural x

I'd really like to see more posts that are addressing these points. I've been looking into spray tanning and all these points are great feedback to get before spending $$$.

Its difficult though when addressing these points to all agree with just one solution which is why so many of us use so many different solutions.
How a tan fades is pften more to do with the client than the solution.Other factors are more to do with application it really is a case of trying for yourself.

I appreciate that some things will differ between clients and operators, but some are consistant, fragrance, choice of solution, colour guide, retail products......
Often these types of threads just become "I use XYZ" and there is no sharing of information IYKWIM.

i half agree and half disagree with this. i think it depends if you mean how they look after it or just what their skin is like.

I dont really do much to my skin after i have had a tan. normally i dont look after the tan so to speak. i dont moisturise, i dont exfoliate until i want to get rid of it and re spray, i just leave it and shower daily, using a scrunchy puffer thingy and dove body wash as usual (which i hear is meant to strip tans really badly?! lol). so whist im not looking after the tan, it still lasts. Even when i do look after the tan, i dont see any difference unless im using top up cream.

however, i had a client that went to turkey, and she had a tan before she went, i gave her sachets of top up cream, full aftercare advice, but the one thing that slipped the net; she had a mud spa thing and a sulpher bath (im not sure what that is) bu she said it took her tan right off!

so i dont really believe that wether you look after your tan or not makes a hell of alot of difference, from my experience on myself anyway. but a client may do something, such as the sulphur bath, that takes the tan off, or her skin type may only allow the tan to last a few days.

ALSO as far as it being more down to the client than the solution, NO WAY!!! lol. I have tried some god awful solutions that developed instantly orange and/or patchy! and lasted a day!! it made me doubt myself a little, 'did i prep correctly' 'did i spray myself ok' But it turns out it was just a pants solution!!

Perhaps to narrow things down we ought to do a poll on what solutions have you tried that have been god awfull.
