Mentioning the Beauty Industry and solariums in the one post/thread is bloody hypocritical.
The beauty industry is about gaining what we don't have, or making better what we do have, much of this (facially at least) revolves around sun damage (enough said). So what are we about ? Wreck then repair? |

But Nailzoo, you're in Austrailia... you get sun. we get mist rain more mist grey skies cloud grey misty skies ... and a few days of sun in between.
Some people on this side of the planet like to warm up their ole bones on a sun bed every now and again |

I have the scars (from being cut out) and the white patches, due to lack of pigmentation from having them burnt off (basically the doctor freezes them off with liquid nitrogen, giving you frostbite down a few layers of skin so it dies and falls out) taking all skin pigmentation with it, leaving white patches. Do you still feel like warming your bones? |

Don't necessarily be put off having sun beds. I think a lot of people would like sun beds to be banned but maybe not for the reasons you might think.
The press are in the market of selling newspapers and countless articles about how bad sun beds are will sell much better than articles about the positive aspects of responsible tanning. Its interesting to note that articles generaly mention the ill effects of sun beds and possible connections with skin cancers but fail to mention that overuse of sun beds and the sun are equally bad for you. Will the sun be banned ?Research however, has not been found linking moderate sun or sun bed use to skin cancers. There is an increase in vitamin D deficiency in the uk due to our indooor working and poor weather. Vitamin D can be obtained from both the sun and sun beds. Its ironic that this deficiency is linked to a number of cancers but this type of information is kept quiet. I have a busy salon with sun beds and spray tan and I think there will be a place for these in the future. I would be happy for salons to be regulated to ensure responsible tanning. |

Hi Jen,
I started a tanning shop and nail/beauty bar in July. I lease my sunbeds as this was the better option. There are lots of pros with leasing such as You can always upgrade beds Tubes Breakdown I have to say people still use sunbeds even though they are bad for us, You will do well with the creams you upsell. Try Peak Sunbeds or Sunquest both are very good. If you need anymore info let me know Good luck with your venture xx |

hi hun try blue tanning the numb is 0800 587 2583 they supply beds at very good deals loads of options available, they also stock californatan(though personally i find this a little on the orange side) if not then look for sun bed suppliers and ask abt rental income schemes etc.a lot of my customers use sunbeds though i dont provide them but in wales they are still very much in use.the best solution i have ever used is celebrity secrets and a tan,i dont like st tropez simply becouse it only comes in one strengh which is just not suitable for my salon(some clients wont a very dark tan even though they are very pale and st tropez does not offer this plus they will only supply if you buy thier equipment at a very high price)i cant speak for tantricks as when i was reserching and trying lots of solutions tantricks never returned my calls but i think the company has changed hands since, but at the time the customer service was appalling shame as i use on average 4-5 litres a week and still growing.try spraytan supermarket.com they will send diff samples x

Hi everyone, thanks so much for all your help and advice. I am going to start with renting a sunbed and if it is demand maybe rent another one. I think I may also use fake bake spray tan, i did try a tester and liked the colour, the only thing is they are pretty bad in meting up or providing further details over the phone, but the only reason I want to use them is because many people know of them. Is that a bad thing? x
