I had a client in this evening for a full leg and bikini wax shes been to me once before and their was no problems, however this time near her bikini area i was quite concerned as it appear purple in colour which i hope will soon disappear and not fully develop into what looks like a bruise.
She did ask me about it but i even got her to stretch the skin whilst i did underneath too so it wasnt that i wasnt strecthing.
However now i feel bad and im even doubting myself thinking maybe my strecth wasnt firm enough as my hands we're quite hot and clammy whilst wearing the gloves so maybe it might of been that. Other than that it cant be that her skin has reacted cos the other area we're fine and the bottocks area which are normally prone to bruising, what another reasons could their be for this or it is primarily mine the therapists technique at thought.

If she is prone to bruising then it is likely she is more sensitive. Did you use small strips? I find if you work in small sections and dont wax round corners as you cannot get a good grip on the skin. Apply a thin layer of talc to prevent the wax sticking. If you were hot and sticky in your gloves it sounds like maybe the problem was the heat in the room and hot hot the client was.

I find sometimes at the end of the day the wax room is really warm and humid (it helps to keep fresh air flow throughout the day providing there is no chill!) this can make skin clammy or cold to the touch and can cause problems with the wax sticking more to the skin.

Keep the room at a decent temp, and make sure you pre wipe the skin and apply a thin layer of talc.

I bruised a client once because she lunged forwards the second before I pulled off the wax strip stopping the skin from being stretched.

I explained what had happened apologised and left it at that. It can happen from time to time and as long as its rare then dont worry too much, just try remember to keep the skin dry, stretched and work in small areas where shes likely to bruise, or like a lot of people on here try hot wax as this is supposed to be good for preventing bruising!

Sounds like a bruise but don't beat yourself up about it. If you feel sure that your technique was fine, it's could be that she's a bit run down or dieting. Loads of reasons so don't worry. xxx
