Hi,
Ive herd virgin have stopped their Inlight Bauty Therapists!
Does anyone know if its ever coming back?
And if so how do they normally advertise the vacancies?
Are any other airlines goin to introduce it?

Thank you

Hi

I used to be an inflight beauty therapist and from what I can gather they are now cabin crew or have left. It was not proving to be cost effective service for the airline at this crucial time with the oil costs etc. I am not sure it will be something that will be come back too soon, it was a free service to UC pax unlike cabin crew and not all pax could get a treatment, was random selection on flights, so it was sometimes considered a bit unfair by those that did not get one IYKWIM.

However, you can apply to work at the Upper Class lounge in Heathrow and at Gatwick, they use Cowshed products in there. Could possibly be a way in should they ever decide to introduce the service back? You have to go onto Virgin Atlantic Website and there is a careers section

Beauty Therapists also work with BA in their Upper class lounge using Elemis products, so is another option. I think this option is through Elemis recruitment.

Not sure this really helps you but if its Virgin you like could always try as cabin crew.

OGT : )

In a word No. Virgin Atlantic are making quite a few cutbacks, and unfortunately the IFBT (one of my fave bits of the Upper Class experience) was one of them. The therapists were either offered roles as Crew or the Spa at Heathrow / Gatwick.

This cut also reduced the number of crew on each flight from Heathrow (they didn't fly out of Gatwick or Manchester) by one, saving costs in staffing, product / materials and of course fuel.

A real shame, and one that many of us miss.
