NO!!!! Although she will probably be fine, don't risk it. For her sake and yours.
I know of someone who gave a family member a massage over the area where there was a blood clot to help relieve the pain and they died later that day as it travelled. xx |

Oh Katya if you are ever un sure of a contraindication you must not do the service. I would go over your training notes on the different contraindications to waxing (or what ever treatment you offer) so that you will be sure of what is safe and what is not safe. ![]() |

Unless the blood clot has gone and she has the all clear off her doctor DO NOT TREAT THEM!
Blood clots are also known as DVT and can Kill! If that blood clot moves to her heart then she will die simple as that. The injections will help break the clot down but until then stay well clear. Any motion can move it, and massaging the legs just to put after lotion on can do that. My mum has suffered from these and she had to be on bed rest for a week. Kate |

DEFINATEY NOT. Speaking from experience, I had this myself from November last year until March this year and the vascular specialists instructions was definately no. Once she is given the all clear and she is off the injections but the blood thining injections causes other problems in themselves and is a contraindication as well as the clots. I couldn't have anything done for the 6 months I was on thinning injections and tablets. They didn't even want me to shave my legs. Any therapist shouldn't touch someone with this. Basically you turn feral for 6 months. No massages, no nails, no waxing, no nothing - unless you do it on yourself which I did - I waxed my eyebrows for 6 months and shaved my armpits but pretty much turned yeti. |

Hun this is a no go area chic, the medication your lady will be taking will either be heparin or warfarin, more than likely heparin as she is having it in injectable format (sorry about spelling guys) These two medications are used to thin the blood, to decrease blood clots causing thrombosis or spreading to other areas such as the lungs or even worse heart. The medication causes what we no in the trade as a hemophiliac (bleeder) Because the blood is thinned down so much, if you cause any breakage to the skin they are like a tap u can not turn off. Also the medication thins the skin and they bruise very easily. U can ask for a doctors letter but to be honest with this condition u are more than likely to hit more of a problem than if u left well alone. But would u be covered through your insurance with a doctors letter even though it is a major contraindication hun . Personally hun stay well away and just apologise and showing an understanding of her problem will mean she will come back in the future hth love jenny ![]() |
