Hi guys,
I just wanted to know if everyone does extractions on congested skin. I always do, because if someone has black heads and ready to burst spots how can you let them leave you salon without those being removed? The reason I’m asking that I had a few facials lately and felt like therapists didn’t really want to do it How do you do extractions? Do you use any special equipment? Looking forward to your comments, Cheese |

Hi I do extractions, especially if the client has booked the facial because their skin is spotty and conjested. Some clients just want a relaxing facial so I would always ask. I always use the rolling and finger tissue method after steam and product that i was taught by dermalogica. I never squeeze red spots or ones with a head on though as I thought this would probably cause scarring and lead to further breakouts in that area. Extractions aren,t always as successfull as I would like, I have a good couple of goes and if they don,t come out leave them as I don,t want to mark the skin. Do you think extractions are more successfull when using electrical equipment?

I use a product specifically designed to aid extraction, called Bio Arome E by SwissDermyl. Alternatively I use their ThermoMask which does the work for you!
I'm always careful with extractions - I don't want to risk spreading any infection across the skin, and I don't want to further redden the skin. |
