31-10-08, 01:33 PM
Hi
I am just starting up in own studio and am wondering what type of wax to use. I currently have a traditional wax pot but was wondering on the benefits -or not!!- of phd waxing. Any info please?! Is it easier to use? Feel im a bit slow with traditional method would phd be quicker? Is it expensive to run re wax etc? Any info appreciated! Thanks Carol |

I was slow with pot method waxing and took on clean and easy, which I hated. I ditched that system and bought the Australian bodycare system and hated that too. In the mean time I got quicker at waxing and now can do a half leg wax in 15 minutes or less.
I bought the PHD Sytem only yesterday because I am after something more hygienic than say pot waxing. I am not too impressed yet, as I bought the Berins kit too and I am finding that much better. I suppose with everything its practice so I am going to keep at it until I have cracked it. Kate |

I use the Clean and Easy system and I love it!
I use their wax for sensitive skin as I found that their honey wax set too quickly, and cooled down far quicker than the other ones in the range. The one downside to it is that it's a bit of an arse when you're doing a full leg and the cartridges are only half full. They nearly always seem to run out just when you don't need them to! I've got round this now by making sure that the cartridges are always almost full, by decanting the half empty ones into the other cartridges. Does that make sense?! I buy the cartridges in bulk boxes of 12 or so which works out much cheaper than the boxes of 3. |

The most economical system to use is Pot and Spatula, but this takes more practice to perfect and get your speed up.
I used to use PhD but have now switched to mostly a wax Pot, but I also have a single handhelp Hive roller heater - its great for legs. Mat |
