You know NailZoo I had a great deal of respect for you. HAD.
Yes I am a mere NURSE. A mere Consultant Nurse with a degree in cosmetic dermatology. Who has undertaken extensive training (and worked bloody hard to get where I am) - I work in association with many eminent and respected Doctors and I am affiliated with a Harley Street Doctor in London. I have helped many many patients who have come to me for years. I have worked for the NHS and slogged my guts out to HELP PEOPLE. You obviously have no concept of how hard nurses work and how in a hospital setting - junior doctors rely on nurses to get them through! We do more than mop peoples brows! I would not preach to you how to do nails - you are an obvious master. Why do you belittle me? I am also a Nurse Prescriber (university degree no less), you are talking through your butt! Doctors and Nurses are professionals who work in conjunction with each other. I make referrals to consultants (I can you see, being a consultant Nurse) - and THEY MAKE REFERRALS TO ME! Strange that - with my limited knowledge. I have been called out in the middle of the night to answer to emergencies - worked 100 plus hours a week, all in the name of HELPING PEOPLE in pretty much dire straights - strange that - being a mere Nurse! I offer advice because I actually care - what people do with that advice is up to them - DONT EVER PUT NURSES DOWN! |

Am reading this thread with GREAT interest.
My husband is a sufferer and at 38 can get quite down when he has an outbreak. He roughly suffers an attack every 6months and through trial and error the only thing that clears the spots and the itchiness and tighness is a course or oral antibiotics. He also wears Clinique SPF60 daily as he found the sun and especially the wind really did aggrivate the skin. I would espcially be interested if anyone else apart from Carl had taken a skin peel or something similar to aliviate their condition. |

I have performed many skin peels for such conditions. (Sorry still can't work out the quote thingy)! with really great results.
Medical Grade TCA peels are really effective, much more so with less adverse reactions than Glycolic (in my opinion, and much of the latest medical literature)! Your husband may benefit. PM me if you need further help/advise. I may be able to recommend someone in your area. But then again - what do I know! Sorry - almost feel reluctant to write a reply now! Can I stress - much respect to all professions. |

YES, I will reiterate, doctors are doctors and nurses are nurses, with respect to both their capacities and limitations.
When I'm sick I go to my doctor, not my nurse, so stop putting words in my mouth and please be realistic. Sometimes if I need to go to hospital there is a Triage nurse, but they cannot treat me, they put me in line according to the care I immediately need in comparison to others. Nurses work under doctors advice....it's quite simple really, no need to get on your high horses, I respect both, but as far as opinion is concerned there is no question ....... Doctors come first. Although nurses have had quite a lot of experience, it's the doctors that have had the education ...... NOW GET OFF MY BACK ........ IT"S A FACT |

[quote=nailzoo;901949]I appreciate what you say, BUT .... no offense, your profile says your are a "nurse" ..... and I prefer to listen to the "doctor", they have the education and have done the time and they have the true knowledge.
Your words ..... I certainly have 'education' have 'done the time' and have the 'true knowledge' . GUESS I NEED TO GET EDUCATED, DO THE TIME AND HAVE TRUE KNOWLEDGE ACCORDING TO YOU! Again Your Words! My Words - IGNORANT ARROGANT INNAPROPRIATE |

Back to the original post....
V, have you seen this web site? You might find something of use there. There's an interesting article about jojoba oil at the bottom of the home page. International Rosacea Foundation - rosacea treatments & symptoms |

OK THEN ...... when you are sick, do you make an appointment with the nurse, or the doctor?
I'm not taking away from nurses (you guys do a great job), but they are different professions, yet associated, sheeesh, why am I bothering to defend myself? Everyone knows the difference...... |

You can make an appointment with both - and both will treat you! I think everyone knows the difference - that is not the question though is it - as you well know. Your comments were hideous beyond comprehension, and deeply offensive. You have absolutely no concept of what nurses do or don't do PERIOD.
I hope you eventually get some clarity with your skin Victoria. There are various options mentioned. Excellent advice from previous poster - stick with your Dermatologist to follow through with your treatment regimes. X |

How long have you been on the treatment prescribed by your dermatologist Victoria.Maybe it just all needs a bit more time to make a difference.
Its a condition that is very hard to treat by anyone let alone anything a beauty therapist could suggest ,what may work for one person wouldn't necessarily on another its a bit like ecxema different things internal and external can trigger it and different things can help and soothe it. Hope you get some relief soon
