I did nvq but i'm sure all colleges ask the same sort of questions.
They asked...why do you want to do beauty? What treatments do you think you will be doing? What do you want to do after you qualify, work in a salon or spa or go mobile? What will you do if you don't get on this course (i said cry lol) And then I did a test on my skills of reading and maths on the computer. It's really not as bad as you think so don't worry too much. Just don't go in jeans, they hate it. Not that I think you would but some people did and didnt get in. Good luck sweetie xxx |

It's always good to be prepared with your answers. They are more interested in finding out if you are suitable for the course and the outcome is what you are expecting rather than catching you out hun. Go along with your hair tied up,no jewellery, minimal make-up,no false nails and you will be fine xxx

I don't remember much about my interview at all...! I remember sitting there in the room with my lecturer and her going through my application form with me...I think she probably didn't ask me a great deal because the course was oversubscribed for that year and she didn't think I'd get a place...so she offered me a place on the holistic course instead, which I turned down!! Then a few weeks later, enough people had dropped out so I was told I'd got a place in beauty just 1 week before the course started!!
Try not to worry too much, you never know how things are going to pan out in the long run. They're not expecting you to know much about beauty beforehand anyway...that's why you're going on the course!! Good luck!! |
