Tantrick colours help - 08-05-09, 06:47 PM

Hi
I have been tanning for 2 weeks now and using tantrick. Can someone please tell me what colour they use for what skintype?
I have sprayed my sister with 5% twice and it turned out lovely as she is strawberry blonde and very pale but she would have liked it a bit darker so the third time she wanted to try 8% so i tried that and she said it wasnt alot darker than 5% on her, why could this have been? Have also tanned someone with 10% and it wasnt that dark on them? I thought maybe i should start using the next percentage up for each client so that i could spray them lighter and get a darker colour but when I tried it on my sister she wasnt much darker so im a bit confused about who should get what % to get a nice dark tan to suit them? Sorry if i dont make sense xx

Have you trained with Tantrick? This was the first thing covered in my training when the product was introduced to me, perhaps you would have the details in your start up pack to refere to? My trainer gave me a sheet on the day with this info:

5% is for skin types 1 & 2 -goes red in the sun/ always burns.
8% is for skin types 2 & 3 -skin that tans but may go a little red first
10% is for skin types 3 & 4-skin that tans easily and has a naturally darker (when non tanned) appearance.
12% is for types 4& 5- skin that tans easy and has a naturally darker (when non tanned) tone.

HTH

From all the people I have tanned, no matter how pale they are no one is happy with anything lower than the AG. So now I'm adding booster drops to my 8% and prob won't bother ordering the 5% and 8% anymore. Dunno if thats helped at all!!!

Actually this is such a fantastic idea...a spray tan colour chart

Now here's a though for peeps...why don't we produce an A3 poster showing all the skin type individuals with a general recommendation of which % solution to use..as well as some promo sales lines like"enjoy the safe tan your in " kind of thing...a poster which is non brand specific and emanates from you peeps.

You know like the charts the UV salons have on their walls ...sponsored by the TSA encouraging safe UV tanning.

we could perhaps include a logo..contact details etc from Fiona's "safe tan campaign as well as a link to Salon Geek.

If you guy's think this is a goer I will happily get our graphics guy's to produce a mock up for your approval and once approved get a couple thousand printed .
Although someone will need to
1) Talk to Fiona
2) talk to SG owners to see if there up for their contact details of the site to be included
3) someone to send out the posters to whomever wants them...maybe Fiona

Maybe a stupid idea but never the less, without any branding, may just help promote your businesses, the campaign led by Fiona as well as the site..
and of course not forgetting this whole thing driven by peeps????

yeah i was told about skin types etc but I am finding those colours sometimes are not coming out dark enough for people. Was just wondering what you all used for pale, meduim and dark clients? i thought if i used 8 for the lightest client instead of 5 it would be better but the 8 didnt seem much darker than 5 on her xx

Hi

I use 5%, 8% and Essence of Summer for the lighter types, for medium 8%, 10% Autumn Gold, for darker types 10%, 12%, Autumn Gold and increase solutions up to 14% if needed. HTH

I have a chart showing the different skin types which I usually give to my trainees to help them when they start.

PM me if you want a copy - I can scan it in for you.

A colour chart of sorts would be great - I have been asked if I have one.

I don't want to hijack the thread, but just wondered what the difference between EOS and 8% (apart from 1/2 %) and AG and 10%. I have both, but people prefer the EOS and AG which seems to be a more golden colour than the original. Does anyone else find this?

EOS was developed for blonde's and red heads and gives a lovely natural golden colour.
AG was developed for the darker haired peeps and gives a lovely tropical bronzed colour.

i'm very fair and love the 8% as do many of my pastey friends
but then some of my friends with medium type 3ish skin like the 12% and it still looks natural, i think it varies depending on the client. But i like to look natural and not like i have a fake tan and i could never get away with a 12%.

Collin-sounds great, anything that'll drum up business can only be good! Not to mention highlighting the issue of safe tanning, i dont do sunbeds as i dont want to risk my health for vanity and forever preach to the girls at work lol, to be able to show them the quality of colour they can get safely would be great, i'm very pale so they're not sold on the whole health issue by my colour lol.
