spray tan question? - 06-08-09, 03:40 PM

I had a client recently who had quite a bit of colour (natural tan) on her body but her hads and face were much paler.

I sprayed her with La tan Gold 10.5% as this suits her colouring. Her face did not come at as dark as her body. Do you think this is due to the face being so pale initially compared with the rest of her?

I am sprayed her twice in one week to see if I just needed extra in the face but she says it didn't go very dark at all. I will be spraying her again soon for a wedding. I thought I would see how much of her natural tan has faded and decide which solution to use on her.

To cut a long story short! Is there a way round this problem if the face is so pale before the tan compared with the rest of her body. Will I never be able to get her face to match the tone of her body because it is paler to start with or would using a darker colour on the face help?

Does anyone have experience of this problem?

I don't think she will go the same colour all over if she isn't practically the same anyway. But I'll leave a spray tan expert to tell you that!

Just a quick note - her hands and face will fade quicker anyway because of washing her face and hands etc, could this be something to do with it?

Does her face not tan like the rest of her body because this may affect it too?

Could you not spray her body with a lower % so it looks more even?

I have a lot of clients whose legs don't tan at all so they have very white legs and a browner upper body. I spray them with an 8% upper body and 10% on the legs or the next percentages up if they want darker. I do this a lot and it works really well and i've sprayed faces with a darker % too. Only go up to the next % though and you should be fine
