Tanning Help!!!! - 21-08-09, 09:02 AM

I did a spray tan last night on a lady who is getting married tomorrow. She has had 2 previously which she has been happy with. She has just phoned to say her legs look like they have ran and she has a white patch on her arm.
I've told her to give her legs another rinse in shower incase the guide colour isn't all off (i'm sure I would have noticed if her legs had been runny last night).
I've told her to come along this morning to sort out the bit on her arm.....do you think its best if i just sweep over the bit that has been missed or re-do her arms all over?
Hope someone can help as don't want to ruin her big day

This may be too late but i would just spray on the area that was "white" and then just a light mist over the rest to blend.

Let us know how you got on?

Also remember that this may not be your fault as the client can be in contact with water after being sprayed and this can cause patches.

Its early days and the best thing is to see her once the tan has fully developed and take things from there.

On any missed areas simply touch up as required and hopefully the runs on her legs are just the initial colour guide

Thanks, as I thought her legs were fine once she showered again and to be honest when I saw her the white patches were hardly noticable. So I did a quick mist over them. Was also going to ring you Colin as my machine has started to spill when I'm spraying....i've tried putting vaseline round rim cos i'm sure you told me to do that last time but its not helped

It always pays to wait to see the customer before going into panic mode if they text or call to say there is a problem with their tan outcome...as in this case..far to often the customer panics before the tan outcome has fully developed.

Simply be supportive to the customer and ask them to come in to see you at their earliest convenience so you can have a look for yourself after which you can make remedial action recommendations...assuming any may be needed by then.
oh dear but no problem just call us up when convenient to you and we will be only to happy to resolve the problem for you

A client I sprayed tonight left in heavy rain. I gave her my jacket and escorted her to the car to avoid and tan washing off. ( i do this often)

She has just text to say she thinks her tan has ran in the rain (obviously at her end) and says she has white spots. I have just asked her to text in the morning once she had showered and if need be i will spray the white bits. Hopefully there will be no need!

This is why it's best to get people to get tanned 2 days before an event so that any problems can be sorted.
