7 year old daughter dull hair! Best shampoo and conditioner?

Hi geeks, popped over from nails!
My 7 year old has long fair hair, it looks quite dry and dull. I am wondering what you suggest is the best hair care products for her and how often i should was it?

I wash my 7yr sons hair twice a week using an organic sulphate free shampoo. I used to wash it only once but now wash it again after he's been swimming.

If it's looking dull and dry, is it getting rinsed thoroughly? You only need to shampoo the scalp area as the hair should be ok unless you're adding lots of products to it.

Thats where im going wrong then lol, i wash three times a week, shampoo twice right through to the ends! I'm definitely rinsing properly with fresh water.
Ill look into sulphate free shampoo,
