I have naturally base two coloured hair with quite a bit of gray... I have been colouring it at home (superdrug colours) for years but I have very short cropped hair. I want to go peroxide blonde... I have done it before at a salon she used 40 vol and did it twice but I didn't have any grey then, how can I do it please?

You really should still do it in a salon. Playing with that level of lift even if it's short is risky.
Impossible to give advice without knowledge of the product you have, how much you lighten and how difficult your gray may be to color.
If done at home chances are you will not get any coverage. Anything over a level 8(Med blonde( is the lightest recommended with grey coverage.
