Colour suggestions please!

my lady has a box dye on her roots and wants a lighter ashy brown all over and balayage , any suggestions on how to achieve this look using wella colours? Would you bleach bath the roots first to lift? Then recolour? Would you use different colour on the ends to roots to avoid kharki tones from an ash colour

How dry/damaged is the bleached section?

One option: Weave a few sections out using foil and bleach on the root area being careful to leave out the bleached sections. I'd then tint the remaining root area separately with a permanent 7 or 8 ash. I'd then apply a demi/quasi to the remaining bleach and finally, balayage with a gentle bleach mix, a few thin sections around the face and elsewhere as needed.

It really depends on the condition of the bleached sections whether I'd balayage afterwards or not.
