If you are using an e-file then yes, the particles are 50 times smaller than those of hand filing and extremely bad for your lungs if breathed in regularly
 
Hi You need a nail dust extractor whatever treatment you are doing involving dust. The HSE Cohss SR13 Regulations, state quite clearly "Masks are not enough". They state this for a reason, inhaling nail dust is extremely dangerous.
There is a recent independent review of the Ravair Nail Dust Extractor on this site.

A mask is not enough. You need a source capture ventilation system.
 
You should also wear an N95 mask if you are filing product or nails.
