false toe nails!

This is a good one for you all!!

I have a client who has 'lost' their big toe nail - they had it removed from an infection and have no nail now- can you get a false nail to go over the skin when she wears mules etc? I have seen falsie for toes but surely you need a nail for it to stick on...???
