Growing out highlights

I have naturally brown hair that I highlight ash blonde about every 7/8 weeks .. but I can't affort it anymore and I also want to give my hair a brake for a bit ... now I have 10 weeks regrowth and it looks pretty bad ! I don't want to get rid off the blonde completely I was looking for something to make it easier to grow out? ... I was thinking maybe half head off scatterd low lights ? And a shadow root? Iv no clue though lol!! Ideas would be great! Thanks x

Ask your hairdresser to balayage some lighter pieces and break up the regrowth line so it's a soft root stretch look?
