hi just a quick question. I've recently gone self employed (mobile) and I've recently started doing hair extensions. my clients pay a deposit and the rest of the amount on the day. should I record them as two separate incomings or just as the whole amount on the day of service?
I don't know why but it's confusing me when looking at my banking and then my spread sheets.

sorry just want to add that the deposit goes towards the hair and I pay the remainder of it.
 
I do 2. I put the first as hair extensions deposit and the second as final payment
