Health & Safety and any other things to do before setting up home salon?

Hi geeks,

Just wondering do I need to contact local authority, environmental health etc before setting up and opening my own home run salon? Do I need to display certain signs and adhere to certain guidelines.

I'm getting my insurance through babtac and baylems, just want to make sure I'm 100% covered and legit before starting.
