I have blow waved like that. Dry roots for volume , then ends then mid lengths.
I made an image in paint
The orange is your brush and the blue is the blow dryer, So you want to roll the hair under the brush with the blow dryer and get rolling it up the hair section. Let go and then repeat till dry, then finish with irons only if needed. You can usually just leave it a is.
Hopefully this makes sense.
