Hi lovely hair people!!

So I had micro ring extensions put in over a year ago, and when I got them removed I kept them. I'm curious to see if I can find someone where I live who can put them in again for me. in the mean time, is it worth me washing the hair? And if so, any tips on doing so? Or am I best waiting to see if I find someone who can re-prepare them before fitting?

Also, I'm assuming that I can't have nano rings put in the same hair? I found the micro rings un-noticeable until I needed to put my hair up and I'm not a fan of a loose/messy updo so like it in a ponytail nice and flat which I couldn't do!

x

Hi Lovely,

(I'm speaking purely as a customer here)
I had Micro-rings and found they were great until they started growing out after a couple of weeks and then they'd peek through and become quite noticeable. I've recently switched to nano rings and find them much more discreet even when I'm due for maintenance.

If the hair is still in good condition it's definitely worth contacting a local extensionist and see if they can re-tip them for you? (I know a couple who do - but it depends on the individual, they may just want you to purchase a new set, which I'd also price up as you'll be paying for a re-fitting of old hair and it might be better in the long term to buy a new set)

If you're going to wash the hair first make sure you use a sulphate free shampoo like the L'Oréal ever-pure range.

Hope this helps x

If the hair u have is an i tip for the micro rings then u won't be able to reuse for the nano. It needs to have that small metal bit at the top so if u want a nano install u will need new hair x

It is possible to have the tip of your extensions changed to a nano tip they just have to be rebonded with a metal or plastic part attached. Most hair extension specialist offer this as a service but i imagine it would cost a far bit x
