The campaign to educate people about the dangers of texting while driving is gathering force around the world. Now though, a mass-market nail line, Sinful Colours, has joined the crusade and launched 'No Text Red' - a shade that executives hope will deter those who text and drive.

Speaking to WWD.com, Blake Decker, Sinful Colours director of marketing, said, "Statistics show that distracted driving causes more teen fatalities than any other cause in the United States. We were inspired by Colorado State Government workers who painted their thumbs red this past summer to spread texting-while-driving awareness, and we wanted to create a national call to action. The Sinful Colors core customers are young women — we care about their safety and well-being."

They are also promoting a Twitter hashtag - #NoTextRed - in the hope that they can encourage it's customers to spread the world via the magic of social media.

"The direct responses [to the campaign] have been overwhelmingly positive. Our consumers are eager to wear and share, and mothers are extremely supportive," said Decker. The polish is available for $1.99 at mass-market retailers.

Even if it stops one teen texting and driving, it's a great achievement.
