Im looking at completing my nvq 2 starting in April time but want to practice some things at home.. im buying a training hand. What would u start with? Do u specialise in ither gel and acrylic or both? Whats a good brand and gel polish brand? Thank u x

You're best waiting to start your training before you try having a go at home, your training will teach you the correct way to use your products, practising before training will only make you pick up bad habits which will be hard to break at the same time as learning a new skill. Most people opt to study acrylic as it usually takes longer and can be a little more difficult to master.

Your training will advise you on which brand whilst you're training, and then after that it's up to you if you stick with that brand or look into others, you'll know which brand is best for you once you have the correct skills and are able to trial brands and find which suits you best, not all brands suit all techs.
