Also does anyone know of a company that specialise in brochures and business cards for the beauty secter.
Also am looking for a nice aluminium case for my supplies and they all seem quite expensive, or are they all like that?!

hi b&q do a great aluminium fold out case for about £22.00 it holds loads
good luck with your business

Hi Gemsy, welcome to the site.
Aluminium cases can be expensive. NSI have quite a large one at the moment which I've just seen in their recent email, but I think stocks are limited. There is a similar case in Ellisons but I think they are out of stock, and I have also seen an Ebay seller advertising them for around £55. A lot of geeks use tool boxes rather than aluminium cases as you do tend to get more for your money. I personally have an aluminium tool box which was bout £30 from Index, plus another few boxes which are aluminium make up style cases which I had a hairdryer come in. I can then carry pieces separately (one box for extensions, one for manicure etc) or I put them all in a trolley suitcase from Argos to carry them all together.

You'll probably find that ironing boards or picnic tables come highly recommended for mobile work. Many 'professional' mobile tables come with a hefty price tag for no better workmanship than a picnic table - you are paying solely for a name. I'd recommend trying a few picnic tables or TV dinner/occasional tables if you can, at least whilst you are setting up.

I don't know if there are specific printers/designers for beauty brochures, have PMd you on that one.
Hope those answers get you going for now! xx

Hi Gemsy

Welcome!

I got my aluminium case from Superdrug of all places!! It cost me £15 - good sturdy metal case with lock and key....i tried everywhere and eventually found one in John Lewis' the same - which cost £195!

I think it was on offer around February time, so they might not have any left but you never know, you should check!!

Sorry i cant help with the rest of your questions but i am sure other peeps will have an idea

I got in contact with the WDA and they gave me a personal business mentor to help with business plan, finances etc. It's definitely worth having someone like this on board as they know all the tricks and pitfalls and can give you alot of guidance. They also know how to get hold of low cost loans, grants etc. My mentor is arranging for £1000 worth of advise, including web site design, brochures, business cards etc. which will be a few quid I don't have to find :) This link might be helpful

hello.I'm part mobile, part salon.I don't use a portable nail table but normally ask and sometimes assume most people have a ironing board.ideal as its the perfect width and height adjustable.3t promotions are excellant for appointment cards, business cards. They are on www.3tpromotions.com or .co.uk.However i did find them exspensive. As your creative trained you can download their images from their website and use logos and images.Just ask any printers, most do a good business deal. You will find creatives legal team need to view anything containing their material before it goes to print.Marketing at creative are on 0113 275 5719 option 5 and can give you more advice on using their images. They are a great team so give them a call. However if this is all too much did you know creative now also do appointment cards, aftercare advice slips too and these look wicked!good luck love.want any more advice don't hesitate to pm me.

Ok, I have a great table - from REM, not cheap but not cheap looking either. Also an aluminium case from B & Q and one from Dennis Williams (beauty suppliers). As for business cards you could try vistaprint.com - very cheap and always have deals on! Good luck with the business. If you have any more questions - you've definately come to the right place, there is always someone around with an answer (it's such a fantastic and helpful website, and everyone is extremely willing to help).
