For the first time, Pantene Pro-V has hosted blow-dry bars in ten London Superdrug stores over the past weekend where customers were able to have a Pantene blow dry for free. Over the two days, there were three Pantene Pro-V stylists in each store providing hair makeovers to showcase the new Pantene Pro-V range which has been formulated for the following hair types: Fine, Coloured and Normal to Thick Hair. Pantene Pro-V will also be hosting blow-dry bars in a further 10 Superdrug stores nationwide on 18-19 February, with no booking required.
These blow dry bars are popping up all over the place and there appears to be a market for them. Understandably, because of lower overheads, they're cheaper than full-service hair salons, offer a quick walk in-walk out service and seem to be attracting a clientele that don't often spend much time in the hairdressers at all.
If you're a hairdresser or own your own hair salon, is the emergence of these salons a worry? We know that full-service salons offer a blow-dry service but do you get much call for it? Are they competition or perhaps just a complimentary industry that can stand side-by-side with full-service salons?
Let us know.
Until then...geek on!
