Pastel colour problem!

Morning all!

I seem to have an issue with using pastel colours, I always get grit like spots and never a smooth finish. (Looks like I've painted over sand!) Therefore feel I have to use some kind of glitter over it to hide it.

I have only noticed this more when using pastel colours and just wondered how I overcome this? Is it due to bad prep? Grit left from buffing the nail?

I think it's all down to prep
However if there's an odd bit of grit which I only notice after the first colour coat, I cure, then use a 240 grit file to buff the gritty piece down, wipe with dsperse then do second colour coat and it's fine then
