Hi,
I’m really new to all of this....and just trying to get my head around becoming self employed. I know there are lots of pros and cons to this but I will be doing a percentage split 40/60 as I cannot afford room rent to start out.
My question is...if you earn £100 for example and £40 goes to salon owner and you get £60- do you pay tax on the full amount or on your split? Sorry if this is a silly question, I’m just trying to work out how much take home would be.
Thanks :)

You would pay tax on your split x
