So currently I am working as a salon assistant and a qualified extensionist. I have 2 out of 3 years complete. My boss has said to me that he thinks I'd do well opening a salon is 6 or so months.
As I do not have my full cert yet I was wanting to discuss with him about being put on as an apprentice.
Obviously now is a busy time with spring carnival, then Christmas. There are only two of us.
The other option is that I take up school on my days off. That would mean I work in salon on the later half of the week and in school on the earlier half.
One of the schools estimated (as I'm looking after clients) I'd be done in less then 6 months if I go in 2 days a week on apprenticeship. As a full time student they have 4 days a week.
Another school offered full time 2 days a week and apprentice 1-2 days a week. But I may not get to pic the days.
Would you bring it up now or wait till the silly season is over?
How would you bring it up?
