I recently qualified in Beauty Therapy but I want to specialise in waxing, both male and female. Do you think its viable to make a living just waxing?

I'm also a massage therapist and do all sorts of massage, but it really is a physical job and find that my wrists are starting to hurt more often and would like to ease up on that side of my business (I'm part-time mobile at the moment). Do you think I should combine the two waxing and massage initally and then focus on the waxing?

I just do waxing and I specialise in both Male and Female Extreme waxing (Intimate), so the answer to your question is a big YES. As long as you're not too near me of course LOL.

I spend half my week waxing my clients and the other half running my waxing courses.

Go for it! xxx

I agree that the answer is yes, but if you have recently qualified it will probably be a good idea to get some experience under your belt before you put all your eggs in one basket. It can be a good idea to offer other treatments, I wouldn't rule it out at this stage. I make the most money from waxing but offering other treatments gives you some variety in your day, and it gives you the opportunity to cross-sell to your clients. I would also suggest you perfect your basic waxing skills before you embark on intimate waxing.

Unfortunately waxing is not gentle on your wrists either, although I personally find it a lot less tiring than massage.

Thanks for that. Its so hard to find work as a newbie beauty therapist, obviously everyone wants someone experienced. I'm ok with my waxing, but would love to just be able to sit in and watch the bikini/intimate waxing. That's where I'm lacking confidence. I do want to take one of your courses Kim. When are the next lot scheduled for??

You could also take a course in No-hands massage if you don't want to stop doing massage. NO HANDS Massage- Advanced Massage Training Courses

Fozzyo on here is a no-hands massage practitioner, I'm sure he would be able to give you more info if you want it.

I run courses every week so give me a call or PM.

You won't learn by just watching, you really need hands on training. You need to watch and wax. Call me. xx

I can recommend a day with Kim. I did and have come on leaps and bounds!!

Rouge: I've looked into the No Hands Massage and it totally interests me. I'm just thinking I'd probably make more money waxing clients as they see it more of a necessity, I think a lot of people see massage as a luxury...unless they are in pain of course! I'm hoping to move to Miami next year so would like to perfect my skills before I go. I'm thinking of opening a little salon specialising in waxing and maybe selling swimwear...kind of like that Strip place, although they sell lingerie.

Kim: I will PM you. Do I need to bring a model
