There's an area near us (growing rapidly) we think is an ideal location for a salon, problem is there are no premises for sale/lease.
Is it possible to buy a 1 bedroom ground floor flat & convert it into a salon? Has anyone done this & what's all involved, how difficult would that be?
If initially we said we would use it as a flat with 1 room being for beauty treatments would that cut out a lot of the red tape & make it easier to move onto full conversion at a later date?

What else is there in the local area, are there any signs of other properties that have had change of use nearby?

Why not speak to your local council as they will be able to give you an idea of whether permission would be granted for change of use from domestic to commerical.
