Hello everyone!

I've been wondering how viable a waxing only studio will be in todays day and time? How many of you currently do waxing only or would you suggest a waxing and lashes etc studio?

I'm a fully qualified esthetician who's been an in house trainer for nearly 5 years looking to step out of training and back in to the field.

Any advise would be great please as this is not a common occurrence in south africa - 99% of salons offer all treatments however a lot of therapist are uncomfortable or not competent with especially intimate waxing.

Very excited to hear from all the wax experts out there

Thanks xx

I think it sounds like a great idea but I suppose it depends on if you think you can generate enough revenue from offering waxing only. I used to have a salon and offered all treatments and waxing wax one of the most popular treatments but I didn't do the specialist intimate waxing. Maybe if you were to offer all the waxing treatments available it would work, you can always add other treatments at a later date or maybe offer training in waxing too. Just my thoughts xx

I do intimate and spray tans but mostly intimate. I do very well out of it, approximately 15-30 Brazilians/Hollywoods per week. Hope that helps.

Lovely! Your replies definitely assists in steering me in to the right direction! I am aiming to build my waxing clientele part time with the goal of specialising in the near future. We are entering in to summer with the December Holiday Beach season in a month's time so I'm holding thumbs that the timing will count in my favour!

I run a waxing studio. We started off only doing waxing for the first 12 years but have added spraytanning as well for the last 3 years.

Thank you for taking the time to respond Beaux Bellus...may I ask what some of your challenges were when you started out? Any advice would be great!

I didnt really have any challenges. You just need to be friendly and make people comfortable so they are repeat clients. I also find that if you inform them in the benefits of regular waxing then they wont drop off during winter.

Thank you everyone! Xx
