Waxperts strip wax problems

Hello, I have used Waxperts hot wax for a while now and love it but decided to invest in the strip wax. I tried it on myself and had problems with it not adhering to the strip and when I used it today for an eyebrow wax on a client the same thing happened. I've never had this happen with wax before, does anyone have any ideas what would cause it? The room wasn't cold, it was almost as if the wax wasn't sticky if that makes sense

Do you apply it quite thin and also take it off quickly? Their strip wax is not recommended for facial waxing. I did their conversion course and it was really useful as their techniques are very different from how I learnt to wax
