I think there is nothing like every type of education to get well rounded data. A hands on class or a demonstration is great. A DVD is great simply due to the fact that you can watch it many times over and what I have found is as one gets more advanced you can learn more from a DVD because you can see more.

This is my opinion too.. as I have advanced with my waxing skills over the yeeas... this DVD is so much more enjoyable to me nowadays as I understand the tips and techniques that you suggest throughout.

I can't wait to see you at the seminars later in the Summer Lori... exciting for all of us waxing specialists that may get the chance to go and and meet you in person :)

I think that a dvd is great for beginners and to also see how others work. I always say that we can learn from each other and sometimes, watching someone else wax gives you confidence as you realise that you're a much better waxer than you thought you were.

Someone was telling me about a dvd where the tutor went 'Ouch' every time she removed the wax strip. Now that certainly won't inspire any wannabe waxer.

well lets face it WE all have our own opinions and these are based on how we as technicians/experts/beginners feel.

we all are going to agree and disagree on all aspects of life as we all are individuals and all have minds of our own and what suits one of us may not suit another.

some of us may not want to do one to one training as they feel nervous or even not competent at doing so. some may want a group session as this is a more acceptable training zone for them and then there are others that will happily put a dvd on and get all they can from that and gain confidence before enbarking on the right course for them.

I think some people need to get over themselves and move on, this site is sopossed to be all about helping each other, not backstabbing and b*&tching behind closed doors.

I think Lori ( US WAX QUEEN) hit the nail on the head with her post :

I quoted this as it is relevant to the post not because I am a puppet trying to bump up threads because ive been asked to. Im a individual who can make her own decisions and will do so when I feel it is relevant

Lets move on and give sound advice and help people that clearly want to be helped that is what this site is all about.

Spread the love and WAX ON !!!!

Good reply Tracey and I agree.

I for one make a point of coming on here every day to help with waxing enquiries, regarless of brand. I want to remain true to myself and I've always said that I use the wax that I use because I believe it to be the best. However, if I find another wax that is better, then I'll use it......and that include Berins. I'm really looking forward to trying it and meeting Lori in the summer.

It's great to see so many new waxers now answering waxing queries on here recently when they've never had the confidence to do so before.

WAX ON !!!

I would love to be more active on the boards however at the moment my training business and also my salon is so full I do not get much time. I am trying to allocate a little time to spend on here and offer my advice as we all have different ways of doing things and its always good to get different opinions on tips and techniques.

I prefer to post giving non branded and impartial advice and if someone wants to know what I use they can check out my profile or they can ask me. I don't like to keep plugging my brand as I do not think it is right. Thats my opinion though and we all have different opinions. What I use I believe it to be the best. The wax I used before a very well known brand on here was at the time the best. However when I was sent a sample of the wax I am currently using it blew the old wax out the water. Always remain true to yourself and your brand if you believe it to be the best and you will go far with your waxing business. I do not believe that there is another wax out there to match it and my business is doing well using it and infact have had many comment over it as well.

Yes it is great to see so many waxers (new and old) now answering waxing queries on here. I hope to participate more than I currently do as long as time permits me to. I am having a well earned day off today as business have been so busy so decided to pop my head in and see whats going on. Lets hope that all waxers on here have the confidence to speak out and give us some of their wisdom. It is such a gift to help others and give your tips and techniques to newer waxers to help them improve in any way that they can. Once you get out of college and into the real world it is soooo different.

Good luck and

WAX ON !!

I tried for a while to get a copy of Lori Nestore's waxing DVD from America (having first seen part of it when I did my brazilian training a few years ago) and I was glad to find that it is now available in the UK from Wow Factor.

I would really recommend it for anyone who does as much waxing as me(90% of my work). It is a great tool to use and refer back to, in addition to training of course!

It is full of excellent tips and it covers every area of the body too, which is fantastic as every other DVD I have of waxing is only specific to one area.

Just a gentle reminder of the origional posting and looking forward to things calming down and remaining with the topic posting:hug:

I do have to say that watching this myself and from a complete novice point of view I have to admit it was facinating and can see that it would be a usefull refrence to those out there that undertake this service.

The manner in which Lori came across in this video was inspiring to say the least:hug:

I also have to take my hat off to all you waxers..I think of all the services offerd within this forum the one you undertake deserves the biggest pat on the back...so go on guy's ..personalaties aside...give yourself a big "pat on the back"

Likewise it is good to see that the diversity of topic on this forum which certainly is getting more and more diverse with every week that passes....

In particular the waxing threads seem to be more regular features on here which is fantastic as this is an integral part of the industry within which we all operate...if we can be professional in our respect for each other than what a wonderfull pool of available knowledgewill be available for those that need it most:hug::hug:

Happy geeking Guy's and lets spread some wax

i'd LOVE this dvd! but i 'aint gonna part with £100 for a dvd for love nor money !

£50 is much more reasonable!

I dont doubt the quality of it..... but £100:eek:

I didnt want to cause any agro with this thread, I was just telling people how useful I found the DVD and its definetly worth getting if you do a lot of waxing. Along with of course training which I know is very important (of which I have been on some great days from fellow geeks!), as you can never get enough useful tips from other waxers!

You certainly have not caused any agro posting this opinion .... we all have different views on things and some times we can become defensive when trying to defend our own views when other people clearly don't agree and come across as underminding what one thinks.

On reflection I was perhaps a little sensitive with my posts earlier in the thread and as such have either deleted or edited my comments to avoid upsetting indivduals that took what I said out of context and made it into something else. All's well again now.. but for the record... I will defend this dvd to the grave.. I feel so much respect for the lady who made this dvd. Lori Nestore, the US WAX QUEEN is my inspiration and idol and I am very happy and excited at her eminent arrival in the UK :)

Passion is something to be cherished Jen and don't you ever go loosing it as there are many on this site that derive a posative benifit from all the passion you have got to offer us all:hug:

I am an experienced waxer and I would STILL pay £95 for this DVD set.. it is worth every penny. However, it is only £75 on the new Berins Web Site.

You can buy it now at the new Berins site:

I bought this DVD quite a while back, long before I ever met Lori Nestore or became involved with Berins, and I found it truly inspirational! My waxing skills went from strength to strength, and I agree with Jen, it was worth every penny.

Standard shipping costs applied through the website are actually a little high for the weight of the parcel (if all it contains is the dvd set!), so if you are interested, send me a pm and I will see what I can do.
