Can anyone give me any information on employing staff with regards to the new workplace pensions?

All staff have to be offered a workplace pension, it's upto them if they opt in or not, but sooner or later it will be mandatory as in other country's. There are firms who will sort it out for you, yes you have to pay them Approx £200, they will also get paid by the pension you choose

It's called auto enrolment and as @Beckybee says, you can find many firms who will do this for you.
