  • Hi, so sorry have not been on here for ages. yes you need all the qualifications you have, some colleges want at least 5 years industry experience but it varies. Do your PTLLS qualification as this enables you to teach adults over 16 subjects you are qualified in, then you can apply for jobs and colleges will usually train you within then.

    hope that helps x
Hi there, I was just browsing through some posts on here trying to find out what qualifications are needed to teach in colleges! I have approximatley 18 months of salon experience from working as a beauty therapist and i have both nvq level 2 and 3 in beauty therapy but i am now wanting to further my career and look into teaching! But im finding it quite difficult to find information on what courses you have to do and what the requirements for the courses are! I would like to teach in colleges or training centres, nvq 1 or 2 ideally to start with or the seperate courses most colleges offer like just nails ect. Do i just have to get my PTLLS and then i can apply for teaching jobs that will then allow me to train further whilst working?
Any advise would be much appreciated, thanks!! :)
