    OPI problem

You don't agree with a quick pass of the block either? An authorized dealer of OPI products, yes: Star Bedard - Bienvenue chez Star Bedard.

    OPI problem

A light buff of the nail plate to remove shine as part of my prep, then yes purifying with a cleanser before polish, resin/powder or gel is what my school taught me. You're saying basically they taught me wrong?

    OPI problem

Lightly passing a buffing block? It's working well for me. My results are good.

    OPI problem

Which part does not need to be done? It's how my school taught nail prep, even with natural nail manicures.

Victoria: See? That's what I mean about personal preference. How's this for weird: I do too. All day. I LOVE my cheap disgusting Walmart blue fuzzy slippers. But I CANNOT appear in front of a client in them lol. I wear shoes myself when they show up lol.... Wow, we could go on for days!

The whole thing is sounding more and more to me like a personal preference. I am with Vhunter on that one.....and it could be that we're both Quebecers/Canadians. We do get some serious weather here, and it's not just chunks of snow falling off their boots onto our floors. It's chunks of salt...

Home Salons - Do your clients remove their shoes ?

The first year I was in business, I rented space in a hair salon where the owner had a basket of slippers for the messy seasons. None of her clients seemed to mind using them, however *personally* I never liked to. Don't like sharing footwear, although I'm sure she launders them regularly...

    Axxium soak off gels

I've been tempted to look into Axxium but I have a lot invested in my current gel system...and not 100% sure about how compatible Light Elegance gel polishes (for example) would be with Axxium gels.

    Finding gels easier than L&P?

When I took my courses, I really wasn't sure what the market would demand around here but figured I should take two techniques (here in Quebec, my school taught gel and resin/powder -- is this the same thing as what you call liquid/powder?) and be ready for either. Acrylic wasn't an option --...

    OPI problem

If I could add one more tip that's worked for me: passing a buffing block (240/320 grit) lightly over the surface of the nail place to rough it up VERY slightly, smooth any ridging and to give the polishes (base coat/polish/top coat) a rougher surface to adhere to. One of my NN manicure ladies...
