    New client, bleach explanation

Please accept my apologies, I didn’t mean to offend! That’s cool that you use a ring light, the shadowing is fabulous! :D That’s what confused me, very beautiful photography. ;) ...I’m probably a bit behind in that sense, I’ve been doing up/own a salon over the past year. I’ve still got a way...

    New client, bleach explanation

Btw not to be a prat, It’s totally ok to do it, loads of colourists do, but it feels a bit insta-filtered on the pic... It’d help to see just a straight up photo of your client. This is what I get with Schwarzkopf... Had to do a zoom because of file size wahh!

    New client, bleach explanation

Beautiful work Georgie! I did try a silver/cendre (Schwarzkopf vibrance In 9.5-1) And I thought it was nice But because her hair is so processed, it was a bit purplish in tone. (I don’t like semi’s because my clients give me a headache if the colour doesn’t last) Silver is lovely and I...

    New client, bleach explanation

Thanks for your advice Haircutz, Sometimes you kind of need someone else to say it... ;) I think the problem might be that she’s been burned before by hairdressers that don’t care as much as I do. Or at all. Obviously, from seeing her hair I can see that her previous colourist just...

    New client, bleach explanation

Hi Geeks, So I have this new client that was recommended by another very happy client who I have a great relationship with. :) The only problem is this new client is ‘difficult’. She’s currently lightened to a level 10 with level 4/5 dark brunette roots. And she wants to go as white as possible...

    Burnt out and stressed out!

You are very welcome! :) I have always felt the same way, showing signs at a young age and cutting my barbies hair. I used to use felt tips and highlighters to dye my dolls rainbow! :D I totally agree, it’s so much more than a job! It’s this crazy rollercoaster ride that leaves me feeling elated...

    Burnt out and stressed out!

Hi Redken Redhead! I will say foremost I do not have your experience in the industry and am relatively a new-comer in comparison but I will say, I know exactly what you're talking about by the industry deteriorating because more people are switching to DIY... ;) I have to work my ass off doing...

    Bizarre hair mystery

Thanks again for all your help! :) hmmm it’s not too porous actually, only slightly above average porosity. M I was surprised when I got my hands in there! The condition looks worse than it actually is in person... But the last few inches are considerably worse than the rest, respectively with...

    Bizarre hair mystery

Hi Ronray! Thankyou so much for the advice!! And product recommendation. I am looking it up as you speak! :D I know of silicone issues but not really come across it till now... Yes, I know exactly what she used! I won’t touch a head without knowing! It was Garnier Nutrisse 01 And she uses...

    Bizarre hair mystery

Hey Jamie! Thanks for your reply, it’s a very difficult situation. I really hate it when I have to be the bad guy... That’s exactly what I was thinking originally! Just didn’t know if anyone might have a better idea lol. ;) I don’t know everything haha! Despite how it looks, her hair doesn’t...

    Bizarre hair mystery

Thanks for the reply Haircutz Yes, there was a lot coming out, in some places it’s like this kind of purplish black. It’s difficult to see from the picture... Okey doke, I will carry on with the Zalon remover and hopefully (fingers crossed) it’ll eventually come out. I’ve never came across...

    Bizarre hair mystery

I have previously achieved this result using Zalon remover, it is salon grade so i’m just very confused as to why it’s not working very well on my new client! It’s so bizarre! (left before, right after) (Both my work.)

    Bizarre hair mystery

It’s the Zalon Pro one? The only other one I’ve had any joy with was Pravana’s colour extractor but the shipping charges are painful, so I’ve been using Zalon

    Bizarre hair mystery

Hey Salongeeks, I am hoping one of you might be able to help me with a truly bizarre situation... I had a client come in with grown out black hair, who wants to slowly progress to a light brown with maybe some blonde highlights. I have now applied a colour remover twice to the black ends...

    Salon colour remover?

Hi salongeeks! :) I’m currently searching for a salon grade colour remover (not a stripper!) A artificial molecule remover. I’ve tried affinage’s one but hated it, it full on sucked, and it seemed pretty weak. The same for effasor, a bit better but it kinda sucks on jet black. I’ve used...

Alternative colourist needs help with going back natural!

Thanks, I did already know that about the bleach but in the case of green/blue hue which is common in greys, the remover doesn’t really cut it. I qualified with Pravana, and those guys actually teach to bleach cool toned Vivids  But Pravana’s vivids do fade out completely so I think...
