    Educating NSS clients?

Hi lovelies. I’m just wondering how you all approach educating hardcore NSS clients that your nails are worth the change and, in some cases, the extra money. Obviously WE know the reasons but it seems to me that a) they rarely give a monkeys if their nails are chewed up as long as they come out...

    That age old lifting issue!

Hi! What is the biggest issue with ratio that might cause a lifting issue? I tend to work medium to wet.

    That age old lifting issue!

Good point. Thank you. My brush is decent but definitely not high end. I think I need to treat myself - and my clients! Thanks lovely! x

    That age old lifting issue!

I suspected that might be the case. [emoji26] Yet people allow their nails to be trashed like that just to get the extensions they want for little dollar. So saddening.

    That age old lifting issue!

Yeah, I strongly suspect it’s to do with the acrylic touching the cuticles/side walls which I need a tad more practice to perfect. Here’s a thought tho, why do you think nails from these quick throughput nail bars still stay on so well when they basically do little or no cuticle work on the nail?

    That age old lifting issue!

It’s possible that might be the problem then. I obviously try to apply the acrylic snugly around the cuticle area but certainly need ongoing practice at getting this just right so may well be leaning more towards getting TOO close as opposed to leaving a fraction more room. Thanks so much for...

    That age old lifting issue!

Hi @lalaloveee! I mostly hand file if the nail is fairly decent! Lol! But I do e-file sometimes too. Does that make a difference then?

How long do your gels last?

    Ooh - good idea! [emoji848]

    That age old lifting issue!

Hi guys. So, I’m not super experienced as yet but I take a lot of time ensuring nail prep is done (buffed to provide a key, all dead cuticle removed and live cuticle pushed back, naio nails nail prep dehydrator, acid free primer - thin coat and all dry before acrylic application) and I use Naio...

Going self employed after being on benefits

Has anyone here started their career self employed after being on benefits? How did you make that transition? I’m a single mum of a teenage daughter so I have no back up in terms of a partner who is earning a wage.

    Glitterbels gel polish

Hi @luntclaudia. Thanks for your response. It was on a baby blue colour that I’d noticed it. HOWEVER, since my post I tried it again but after giving the bottle a really vigorous shake as I’d seen another post here about how some brands really “settle” in the bottle. This definitely seemed to...

    Older client manicure problems, help!

I think that’s a good idea. Try to speak to whoever is in charge as they are responsible for ensuring the care plans are enforced and obviously your clients general hygiene will form part of her care plan. Good luck! x

    Older client manicure problems, help!

I’m an ex nurse and I can tell you that it is the carers responsibility to clean under her nails on a daily basis. That’s awful that she should be in that state before your visit. However, legally, carers cannot cut nails (or hair or toe nails) so asking the carers to do her manicure, as...

    Glitterbels gel polish

Hi guys. I’ve been using Saint Nails gel polish and had really amazing coverage with this so far (although the black slightly less so). I recently ordered a couple of Glitterbels gel polishes just to try and I used a baby blue colour last night and was shocked at how poor the coverage was plus...

Hot wax on my car seat

Try placing a piece of kitchen roll on top and then ironing over the top of that. The wax should re-melt and get picked up by the kitchen roll. I don’t have any other ideas if you can’t get an extension lead to your car to use the iron, I’m afraid!
