    Face treatments

Just seen this too. Also states that staff offering close contact services must wear a mask as well as visor now. Prime Minister announces stronger enforcement measures as easements resume

    Face treatments

Apparently there is an announcement tomorrow like there was on the 31st July. Can’t see face treatments reopening yet with the high increase in cases but who knows. If we can reopen, I don’t see the point in waiting 2 weeks in the first place, hasn’t changed anything.

    Visors PPE

Thanks. It does look weird & uncomfortable but as you say, it you feel safer it’s worth it.

Where did you get your neck visor from? Haven’t seen those but good idea for when face treatments can restart.

    Disposable spatulas

So second wax today with wiping the spatula between dips. It is a bit of a faff but hopefully in time I speed up, Done a full Leg & Bikini in about 40 minutes which is roughly the amount of time it normally takes me with this client. It does spread the wax much nicer than a wooden spatula & easy...

Beauty salons opening from Monday 13th July in England

My thoughts exactly, thankyou. I have been in touch with everyone as you said, it’s funny once they see how things have changed, how many of them lose interest in booking anything. Nothing major has changed in the service & quality of treatment...in fact they don’t really need to do anything...

Beauty salons opening from Monday 13th July in England

She’s actually done it now, but would of called her if not. In the case that contact cannot be made in any way & it is a long term client, would you still see them? I suppose it could be done at the door but being mobile, I wouldn’t want to get there & they say “I don’t agree to any of that!”...

Beauty salons opening from Monday 13th July in England

I send a questionnaire to the client a couple of days before their appointment with symptom questions, will they wear a mask etc etc. I have a client tomorrow & have emailed twice asking her to fill them out but nothing. She is a long standing client but do I still go if I haven’t heard from...

    Disposable spatulas

I only bought one to start of with to see how I get on with it, & I bought off eBay very reasonable. Will update tomorrow when I have another wax. I did double dip with the client I had yesterday as i only had enough wax for her so will see what mess I get in with wiping the spatula after each...

    Disposable spatulas

After seeing the video posted above using a metal spatula, I decided to buy one. Haven’t done any waxing on clients until today (which was a nightmare in this heat & all the PPE!!!! 🥵) so hadn’t had a chance to use it until now. It does take a bit of getting used to but i’m hoping it will get...

    Visors PPE

Definitely. I’ve been wearing both since the start, it’s not great but it’s better safe than sorry. Visors only protect against larger droplets, smaller droplets can enter around the visor. Still get your clients to wear a mask.

    Coronavirus PPE article

Can’t say i’m surprised about this either, would like to think most people had more common sense to know that just a visor is not enough. After seeing a few posts on a hairdressing group on Facebook that some aren’t even wearing ppe at all, it’s even more disconcerting.

I’ve taken to opening my mouth wide to pull the mask back down...thank god clients can’t see under the mask  Also I have got to learn to adapt gestures, I always smile but of course no one can see that. Good tip about the micro pore for clients masks when it comes to doing brows. Although I...

    Foot spa/bath

Footsie for me too. Liners help with being super hygienic especially now. Researched folding spas before now & just wanted to warn you that a lot of reviews have said that they have collapsed while the client has feet in it & are generally awkward so are great in theory but not in practice .

Thanks for the tip, will try that if I still get problems. These are different masks to the ones I tried before, they do seem different. The other ones didn’t seem to ride up. Have a nice day.

I also found a problem with the disposable masks & talking, they kind of nudge upwards & poke me in the eye! I found pinching the nose strip really tight & slightly raising my head when speaking has helped a little bit. Glad your day went reasonably well, sleep well I think we all have to learn...

    Price increases?

Sorry for crashing the thread, but could I ask what your minimum treatment charge is please? I am mobile & used to pop in & do an eyebrow wax or remove gels if I was in the clients area but i’m not going to be able to do that now just wanted to word it a little better rather than saying I’m not...

Urgent visor face mask advice needed

So sorry to hear that you are not coping at the moment. Trust me, being 38 with no need to wear glasses for treatments doesn’t feel much better! I agree with the other comments, you might need to look at your bookings. This is not a normal situation & it is impossible to carry on as normal right...
