Anyone who has done CND Shellac beginners?

On my CND course (acrylic conversion) most people were in jeans even though it says no jeans! X

    Lint free wipes?

I second wax strips, I bought a massive pack from Sally's and a year later (albeit with only doing 2-3 sets a week) I'm only just half way through! I have some cut smaller and some larger so I can use them for different things x

    How to stamp multiple colours

Once you've picked the image up onto the stamper, you can fill in the colours on the stamper head; that looks to me how the majority of this stamping work was done. X

    Lint free wipes

I second wax strips! I love the fact I can buy a whole load for around £4 then cut them up- I have most of them the same size, but I also have some smaller ones for cleaning brushes and tools. I bought my pack of wax strips from Sally's over 6 months ago and only just reached halfway through...

    Lifting!

You *might* be over- priming? I know a couple of CJP youtubers were double priming and some stopped and started doing it once. Are you on the CJP Facebook page? I suggest joining if not, and having a search for "lifting" or "priming". X

    IBD Just Gel and OPI?

It could cause a service breakdown and I don't think you'd be insured. What would the benefit be? I'm not sure any benefit would outweigh the risk of service breakdown. X

Gel products when on a budget

I would second INK, or maybe Magpie Beauty? (I've not used the Magpie ones but got on well with the few INK I have). I would always suggest buying fewer of a better brand, rather than more of a not so good one. I have just added to my OPI gelcolour collection to take it to six colours; I...

    Gelish or OPI gel polish?

That's very subjective; I've never used gelish yet trained in gel polish with OPI so my preference is obvious! X

    Nail stamping

After mastering stamping a few years ago and seeming to then lose all ability to transfer an image, I just recently bought a clear stamper and some plates from MoYou London. I was going to do their half day stamping course as they teach you a load of advanced stamping techniques and you get...

Do you still offer nail varnish?

This is a great question! I have over 200 nail polishes as I got into nails by doing nail art to ease my insomnia boredom. I've recently done a clean of all the old gloopy polishes but I don't want to bin them! I don't have any clients really just some one offs but I have decided to start using...

Nail Harmony Polygel - anyone tried it?

If you do a search there is a thread on here; it goes back to when it was announced, and is interesting reading! It seems as if so far all reviews are positive :) x

    NSI or Ink London

I would say regardless of other peoples opinions the best thing would be for you to either find a salon using those brands and book an appointment to try yourself or to buy the basics and try it out. I've used CND and acrylink- I liked acrylink but they didn't have a wide enough cover powder...

    OPI Pro Spa

I'm keen to find out about it- I've just emailed head office as I want to do a proper mani pedi course and would like to train in this with them. they said the avoplex and other mani pedi systems are being discontinued. X

    Are pedicures a must have?

I really HATE other peoples' feet! I don't even like my boyfriends feet touching mine in bed at night. I don't have any regular clients at the moment, but recently I've had enquiries for mani/pedis. I wanted to do a better manicure course, as the mani pedi course I did was.. dare I say... a...

    Gel polish training questions

Normally you need a mani pedi certificate to do a gel polish course. As for whether you do brand specific, that's up to you! Although check that whatever you do you'll be covered by your insurance. I decided to go brand specific (OPI) which set me in good stead but I also use other brands, as...

What nails are you sporting today?

I have a glitter holo obsession!

    Which acrylic brand is best?

You also learn bad habits that, when you try to train, take double or triple the time to get rid of because you've been doing them that way for so long. No one is being nasty but we've trained hard and parted with a lot of hard earned cash to call ourselves nail techs. You would never tell your...

    Taking pics of clients nails?

I went to hobby craft and bought a variety of different felt a4 sheets which are perfect for using as a background for photos! And because I can roll them all up together they take hardly any room. It's interesting how using a different background affects the art- I use a black glittery one for...

What nails are you sporting today?

I have hundreds of "normal" nail polishes and get bored of my mani every week so figured I'd get some of my favourite polishes out! I also had to repair a nail and tried out doing a longer length for practise.. I actually really like it and now want to do all my nails this length! X

Has anyone used Meldoysusie gel polish?

I haven't tried them but I've seen the odd review on them on youtube. If it's a one step gel you're after, quite a few brands do- for example INK London do their Xlac range. You're best buying a trial kit or a few colours and trying them out before making a large purchase; its the best way to...
