    Employment in a salon

Thanks so much for your help!:-) I’ve decided against it and to focus on the rest of my services! I have since been informed I wouldn’t be allowed to rent my desk to a nail technician so that option is sadly out the window! Xx

    Employment in a salon

hi guys :-) So I am thinking of taking on a nail tech in my salon on a percentage based pay rate rather than a set wage. Has anyone any experience with this? I do gel extensions myself but have a bad back and neck issues so it isn’t ideal for me to be sitting for hours doing full sets anymore...

    Landlord messing around!

Hi everyone, I had recently started renting a room within a nail salon in which to run my beauty business and the landlord had told me she would have a key to the building ready for me to move things in. This was not the case. I was told that they had attempted to get keys cut for me and that...

    Sculptures!

Here is a design I done by sculpting with gel! I've started doing it for clients now after lots of practice and so far everyone is happy! I've been using the nail trainer to practice and I have to say it's definitely worth the investment!

Foil adhesive, mine is hit and miss with full coverage. Anyone?

I bought a nail foil glue off a site called nail delights and it's fantastic! I definitely recommend it, it was their own brand! I'm wondering is the design above over gel or regular nail polish? I haven't been sure how foils would do over gel or gel polish [emoji85] xx

Acrylic paints and regular nail varnish on top of gels for nail art?

Hello! This may be a silly question, I'm new to the nail art scene with gel and gel polish and I'm wondering can you use both acrylic paints and regular nail polish for art on top of gels? I don't like gels for art as they slip and slide and I'd just prefer paints. I've seen a few YouTube...

Sculpted gel tips vs plastic tips

Thank you nailpod! [emoji4][emoji4] you're right it's definitely tricky to master! I've ordered a nail trainer hand to practice on which wasn't cheap but I think it will be worth it when I can practice whenever I want and when I can't get a model to sit for hours [emoji85] lol! Thanks for the...

Sculpted gel tips vs plastic tips

I completed the sculpting course yesterday folks! Here is a picture of some of the work I done. So for the foreseeable future it will be practice, practice, practice! :-) Sculpting Is definitely an art form and super tricky, but I have to say I love the outcome!:-)

Sculpted gel tips vs plastic tips

Thanks Kirste!:-) I know what you mean:) I know the tips don't provide strength to a nail, I just meant in terms of glue on tips and sculpted tips, which is the best option. Which I now believe is sculpted tips, glue on tips can pop off quite easily whereas sculpted ones seem to be stronger ...

Sculpted gel tips vs plastic tips

Bellisima is very good! I'm actually doing a course with them on sculpting in a few weeks time and they're gel is fab. It's soak off too and big range of colours. Infills on average of 4 weeks rather than 2 and last up to 6 weeks :)

Sculpted gel tips vs plastic tips

Thanks that does help!:) sculpting wasn't even covered in my course. Literally just gel and false tips. I've been constantly researching and watching tutorials online since my course and have been learning ALOT more that way. I was annoyed at how much my teacher had left out. I have a client...

    Sorry newbie question, again!

Hi! I'm actually a newbie at gel nails and tips too. In my training when we were applying colour over the gel nail, we didn't apply the base coat, we just removed the shine and applied two coats of colour and a gloss topcoat :) hope that helps[emoji4]x

    Aviva Labs tanning solution feedback

Hi Blair [emoji4] I currently use Avila labs and have done so for over a year now! My clients all love it! I have some people travelling out to me from further away just to have that brand used on them because their more local salons don't offer it! No smell from it, which everyone comments on...
