    Buffing L&P to high shine

I will start my buffing routine with a 2400 buffer, then use INM's mirror finish (great 2 sided high shine buffer) then oil afterwards. I find oil wrecks my buffers if I buff with oil. The whole buffing routine for me takes maybe about 5 mins.

Akzentz question, please and thank you.....

hrm I use a carbide bit on my e-file to take down the bulk of the product then prep the growth with my 180 file...I guess I thought my carbide would of given me a good enough surface for the product to adhere to....I'll give it another go! thanks

Akzentz question, please and thank you.....

So I got myself a trial kit of the classic gel system and a question I forgot to ask the reps when I saw them was can I apply akzentz over top of exsisting acrylic and have it wear successfully? I ask this because my current gel system doesn't seem to adhere to the acrylic. I 'm having to re-do...

Looking for Canadian Nail Tech jobs

Actually there are still some provinces that require licensing...I believe there are 4 others. BC No longer requires a license unfortunately.

Looking for Canadian Nail Tech jobs

Don't know of any jobs....but I know you might want to look into licensing requirements...and these would be the folks to get ahold of for that...and potentially they may have some job listings for you? Cosmetology Association of New B

    Accreditation? Or similar to Licensing?

I wonder if EZF has an educators course you can take? At least it would be a start... I personally haven't heard of any canadian standard, but if you come across something let me know! In BC we used to be licensed by the CABC and in 2003 our government decided we didn't need licensing so the...

Has anyone heard of Sola Nails?

If you google "solar nails scam" your search will come up with a few hits... I live on Vancouver Island in BC and have only had one person come to me about it after they got them done in Kelowna....I'd love to know the name of the shop so I could investigate further...but they told her it...

    Young techs?

I started when I was 22 and had similar trouble. Not much you can do about....just know your stuff, keep learning, be confident with your self and your work and the rest of the nonsense will work itself out. It will be a temporary thing so don't let it eat you up...as you get more experience...

    Damaged Nail Resurrection "VIDEO"

It's work like this that gives me the best feeling in the world...THIS is why I love doing nails...because we as nail techs have the ability to help a client feel better about the appearance of their hands (and feet)!! Call me crazy, but I feel all warm and fuzzy after seeing this...

I hate reading ads like this...

So there is a rep for En Vogue who is teaching gel nails on the side and the trend I notice is that she is teaching all her students the same mantra...this I pulled from a local online add... Benefits of gel nails: -gel nails are NON TOXIC -gel nails are safe during pregnancy -absolutely...

    What do I say...

I definately charge her for the repairs, but I don't have an after care leaflet...one day I'll make one up. I'm taking pictures of my clients who see me after 3 and 4 weeks to produce and show her that nobody else has troubles as bad as she does so that rules out product....don't really know...

    What do I say...

The great nail abduction I've read a few times...it makes me giggle, but perhaps a bit too sarcastic to apply to my client....I can tell you now when I ask for the nails back, she won't know where they went... The serious complaint article is a good read but perhaps my situation is not at that...

    What do I say...

I have a rather "difficult" client and lately she's been getting the better of me :( The mysterious "it just popped off again" excuse... I'm emotionally drained and don't know what else to do/tell this client to make her happy....I take my time, do all the proper steps, I'm always accomidating...
