    Colour correction help please!

After we’ve bleached bathed, typically the hair is porous and so we should use a shade to two shades lighter than what we want the end result to be. For example if you wanted a base 6, I would have used maybe half 7 half 8. I would root stretch that. As the ends look dark enough. X

    Colour change

Hi, I would do two blonde - 1 dark but not as dark as a 6. Maybe a 7/7 if using Wella, or L’Oreal dia 7.23 is lovely. Then tone all over with a 9/7. And don’t panic - you got this! Xxx

    Unrealistic expectations

Just going to pop my opinion in.... I think it’s gorgeous. HOWEVER it’s the clients hair. Have you got a picture of what it is she wanted to achieve? Personally, I think it is subtle and I would have freehanded if she wanted a more saturated look. Now, however, We all do things differently...

    Resistant hair not covering

Hydrogen peroxide opens the cuticle, not closes it....? To pre soften, we use 6% hydrogen peroxide in liquid form. (although many hairdressers will use cream peroxide we 'shouldn't really do this' although it will work in the same way, just doesn't dry into the hair as easy)

    Colour question

Kadus is wella product isn't it? Do you know what, I love wella. But absolutely hate their 7's. They just give never ending problems. Have you ever seen a faded wella 7.3? Its karky! I would drop down to 6.1 maybe put a dot of 7 in. Literally a dot. Sometimes you just need that depth to help...

    Resistant hair not covering

I often think people get the /00s confused with loreal. Majirel 5/00 is equivalent to wellas 55/0 for resistant. Wellas /00s are more natural and are not for resistant hair. Try Loreal cool colour coverage. I find them soooo good at covering grey! Or, pre soften and put under heat for 10...

    Stripey highlights

At college, were taught to section off into 9 sections. When you reach the top, were taught to take foils horizontally through the top. When the hair is washed and laid into natural parting, the highlights are split and this is what creates the 'stripey look'. Imagine the following; __|__ __|__...

    8/1 and 4/0

if it was a 5/0 and 7/0 i'd say half and half but I would be weary the 4 may be too dark. so id just do a smidgen more of the 8/1 to be safe. don't overthink it. itll be fine x

    Wanting out of hairdressing

Please please don't give up! I gave for 7 years and it's the worst decision I ever made to date. I should have stuck at it - but the going got tough and I chickened and ran. Look for elsewhere - some place that will support you in your learning. I up and decided one day that I WAS Coming back...
