Urgent help, Young Nails trained now having to use NSI in new job

I think you will find nsi sets quite a bit faster than the young nails product, ( unless you were using the speed range) so be aware of that. Idealy you would do a conversion course when you switch to a new range. But there are some video tutorials from denise wright and possibly gemma...

Are there any NSI sculptured nail trainers in Northampton?

If its particularly nsi you wish to work with, i think they do their training at aston and fincher. Definately used to anyway. Other companies do teach sculpted nails too though.

Does Essential Nails qualify you as Nail Technician

Im not saying that anyone doing an essential nails course is not a good technician. Just like a classroom education, some will be better than others. But if you are assesed on the nails you send in from the nail trainer, you are being assessed on whether you can put a good acrylic nail on a...

Gobsmacked, how do I reply to this?

"As a fellow professional, you will understand that it is not the materials involved in the treatment that make up the bulk of the cost, but rather a decent hourly rate in recognition of all our training , practice and skill we apply when treating a client as well as the time it takes. Im sure...

    How to shorten stiletto tips

Sorry to be controversial, but its not going to give a good result. There isnt a way to retain the correct structure of stiletto tips if you clip them and file the sides to adjust. Part of the shape of a proper stiletto nail is the rolled in sides. They are not simply a flat triangular pointed...

    Complaining acrylic client

Omg, she is totally out of order. Blatantly trying to intimidate you into a refund fo nails after she has used them. You are the qualified one here, you know if the nails were done correctly. Try ringing trading standards to get advice. I am very suprised you offered to do her nails again...

    Acrylic and gel used together

Its not uncommon in my experience, ive seen quite a lot of experienced techs use this method. I have a client who i do tips in l.p acrylic and complete the rest of the nail in gel. If i do all gel, she chips the tips, if i do all acrylic she gets lifting. She needs the flexibility of the gel...

    Acetone allergy

I would first consider how she knows it is acetone that shes allergic to. Perhaps she assumes it is acetone but theres a possibility that she is in fact allergic to something else to do with the nail process. Look into it a little further before you decide if you can go ahead.

When doing pedicure/polish, do you use toe separators?

I use disposable tissue and roll it up and thread through the toes. Quick easy and clean and no need to maintain.

Client has no big toenail-can Brisa and tip be used?

You could sculpt it with gel and not use a tip. Build it very gradually though or you might get heat spike. But dont wory about using your adhesive directly on skin as it is medical grade and will do no harm.

    UV lamps and acrylics?

If you are thinking of regular nailpolish, then no a uv lamp will not assist in drying at all. However if you are investing in gel polish to put on your acrylic nails then a uv lamp is essential and will cure the gel polish completely in minutes leaving a perfectly dry surface.

Bio Sculpture gel thick, gloopy, bumpy!

When i used bio i noticed that some of the colours thickened quite considerably as they got older. Try applying it really thinly but with more coats. I think if its thick and you put it on normally, it doesnt cure very well and gives a bad finish. Once they are thick they stayed thick.

My daughter has some. Shes a tattoo artist and they are placed to embelish parts of her tattooed arm. Look really delicate. They are called dermal anchors.
