Dermalogica start up, to dare or not to dare?

We are getting dermalogica as well. Was a bit worried by some comments on here previously but we tried samples from a number of companies but quality of product, feedback from therapist and client along with visible results meant that there was a clear winner. Oh and we did a online survey to...

Miscarriage + business + non understanding clients!

Aww I really feel for you. Losing a baby is really hard. I've been through it and although it is early it feels like the end of the world. The thing is though that your client doesn't know exactly what you are going through and because of that is just thinking she needs to get her hair done...

    Massage complaint

Your poor therapist. I'm sorry but your client is completely in the wrong. She should have declared her illness and should speak up during the treatment. What is the point of complaining after the event. I have had numerous massages and all over the world - you always have to share your...

Which social media do you use and is it helping?

For our beauty salon we have Instagram, fb, twitter, pintrest but not sure how much impact it really has. I know people do use social media really successful to promote their business. Any tips?

Best UK based salon appointment system?

    I second shedul! Really good!

Client asking for a discount, what's the best comeback?

We have a handful of clients who try and bargain on the price. Possibly as my friend who has had the salon for 12 years started small from her house. Some clients think they should (a decade on) pay the same price for treatments. My friend is finding it hard to stand up to them as they say...

    Webpage cost

I know there are lots of website designers here but I made ours and had really good feedback. It was easy with WIX and heard that weebly is good too. There are so many other costs to worry about. If you can do it yourself - why not! [emoji4]

    Logos

Definitely second one. With logos you need to imagine it on everything and how it will look- footer of emails, social media, leaflets, signage...I think the second is simpler and works well with the name, the font and the colours. Let us know what you decide.

    Anyone used Treatwell?

Thanks Geeks. We are much like everyone else. Busy times are very busy and then some days where hardly anything happens. Thought this might bring in some new customers but the booking seems a bit of a pain as we already have an online booking system. [emoji51]

    Anyone used Treatwell?

Wanted to know if anyone has gone with treatwell to get new clients? Have heard that Groupon is not worth it but I know people who use treatwell so is it worth going with?

How to stop Facebook no shows

Sounds good to me. Polite and also gives enough information and justification. If they can't be bothered to call maybe they won't be bothered to turn up.

Makeup artist looking for new foundation brand

Have you tried supercover? The makeup artists at our salon use that. http://www.supercovermakeup.co.uk/mobile/Category.aspx?id=3

    Anyone using Wix booking?

I've made our salon website with Wix and really pleased with the functions but it also includes an app where you can take bookings. Is anyone using it and are you able to use it instead of a salon booking system? Can't find any comparisons online so would really appreciate your feedback.
