    Starting soap business

"I could not compete with £0.25 soap from shop" Honestly, why were you even trying? Handmade soap = totally different product that should have been aimed at the "luxury artisan" market.

Struggling with acceptance for having long nails

Rhien Perhaps you could find a nail salon that welcomes Transvistites or Transexuals (google is your friend here)? Not who you are, but there will be an acceptance in these places.

    Starting soap business

Have a look at what your competitors in the "Artisan Soap" market are doing. I used to buy wholesale from a similar business to yours and they packaged the soaps in packaging available off-the-shelf: like the below. Self-seal cello bags like greetings cards are sold in, or slightly heavier bags...

    Advice please, male eyelash extensionist

Personally I'd be fine with a male lash technician or beauty therapist. I used to visit a male nail technician working in his front room at home - though he was introduced as a friend of a friend BUT I suspect that you'd be less likely to be booked mobile - largely due to ladies' husbands and...

My man won't let me practice on him!

My man was very sporting when I trained in tanning, he went to work VERY orange after my first go. He would never let me wax him! It was the pain that he was afraid of.

    Hair extension training headache!

Compared to some of what I read on here about hair extension courses, I'd see this as a GOOD thing! (Having to do a Case Study, not waiting for your qualification).

    Pet hair

Plain old blackboard chalk wouldn't harm her, would it? Maybe wet the chalk from time-to-time so it goes on thicker.

Blood moon-anybody waiting up to see?

I didn't know that Wonderwoman. Shame, I could have done with some of that. I got up at 3 am with my other half. He'd insisted I set an alarm, but he had to be woken by me and then went back to bed long before me. We oldies shouldn't try waiting another 33 years... I was packing orders for my...

    Career change CV

What you need is a "functional" CV (Google it) where you show the SKILLS you've gained and demonstrated. You can always re-word things to put a "positive spin" on them without lying! Use teaching-related verbs to describe aspects of what you've done. At college, maybe you helped your peers out...

Why won't doctors listen-any geeks with Autistic/Aspergers children?

This thread may be worth reading. I was wondering about private diagnosis; but it is apparently very expensive and not usually accepted - NHS is best. Makes sense if you read this thread...

Why won't doctors listen-any geeks with Autistic/Aspergers children?

Wish I could "like" that more than once ;-) If you know what you're dealing with, you can find out how to work with/help the autistic person and those who teach him. Example - there was an a lad at my uni doing a maths degree. He was pretty autistic, it was very noticeable. Fortunately he met...

    Clients leaving you speechless

Wow, Emma and Krum. I'd not respond verbally (I'd also be speechless, and agree with Krum that even if you did say something, it wouldn't change their attitude) though I doubt I could avoid raising my eyebrows...I'd try to avoid ever re-booking them though.

    Staff

If she's self-employed, I'm not sure the "contract" about the hours she works can be enforced. You can't force a self-employed person to work the hours you want, though of course you can agree to cooperate. She certainly wouldn't be protected by a TUPE agreement; and you could ask her to leave...

    Any rabbit experts?

If she's not eating, then take her to the vets. Is she pooping? If not, another symptom. "Gastric stasis" can kill quite quickly. (Rabbit's intestines stop working, I'm not quite sure how it happens but it results in death). (I'm not a rabbit expert but I used to keep them many years ago).

Is Kim Lawless training worth doing?

You're already convinced, so good. Just wanted to add that I sought out a Kim-trained waxer locally solely due to Kim's reputation - googled "Kim Lawless MyTown". If I did that, so will others; so you get a marketing advantage too with your investment.

    Really upset

You don't know what these ladies were doing / expecting they could do with the gel polish, how they might have abused it. What do they do at home, at work, with their hands? I'm sure I've read on here that one customer who had bad chipping finally admitted that she had a horse and did all the...
